A 4-day adventure to climb Mount Meru, Tanzania’s second-highest peak. Located in Arusha National Park, this climb offers stunning views of Kilimanjaro and diverse wildlife. The trek is less crowded than Kilimanjaro and provides an excellent acclimatization opportunity for those planning to climb Kilimanjaro later.

Begin your journey with a drive to Momella Gate for registration and briefing. Start your trek through the lush rainforest, accompanied by an armed ranger due to the presence of wildlife. Enjoy sightings of giraffes, buffaloes, and other animals as you make your way to Miriakamba Hut (2,514 meters) for dinner and overnight stay.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
After breakfast, continue your ascent through the forest and into the moorland zone. The trail becomes steeper as you approach Saddle Hut (3,570 meters). Upon arrival, you can rest and then take an optional acclimatization hike to Little Meru (3,820 meters) for stunning views of the surrounding area. Return to Saddle Hut for dinner and overnight stay.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Wake up early for a midnight start to your summit attempt. Trek through the darkness, passing Rhino Point (3,800 meters) and Cobra Point (4,350 meters) before reaching Socialist Peak (4,566 meters) at sunrise. Enjoy panoramic views of Kilimanjaro and the surrounding landscape. After celebrating your achievement, descend back to Saddle Hut for a short rest and then continue down to Miriakamba Hut for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, descend through the forest, taking a different route back to Momella Gate. This descent offers the opportunity to see more wildlife and enjoy the diverse flora of the park. Upon arrival at the gate, you will be transferred back to Arusha for a well-deserved rest and celebration of your climb.
